Proper preparation is the secret to a long-lasting paint job. Here's how we do it:
**Step 1: Clean the walls** — Remove dust, grease, and cobwebs with a damp cloth.
**Step 2: Fill cracks and holes** — Use spackle for small holes, joint compound for larger ones.
**Step 3: Sand smooth** — Once dry, sand the filled areas flush with the wall.
**Step 4: Prime** — Especially important on patched areas or when painting over dark colors.
**Step 5: Tape edges** — Use painter's tape along baseboards, trim, and ceilings for clean lines.
**Step 6: Paint!** — Two thin coats are better than one thick one.
